HOW MEGUIAR'S HAS MADE A DIFFERENCE TO THE LOOK OF MY CAR

Good day everyone,

Well.....All I can say is Meguiars does not just make a difference in the look of peoples cars....but definately in your life.

My girlfriend Nicole, owns a metallic blue/green Ford Fiesta. We supsected it was always more green than blue....but after Meguiars...well lets just say the car looks TOTALLY different.

Nicole is a girl that has washed her car with Sunlight liquid....yes, I myself got goose bumps. Her Ford Fiesta was riddled with swirl marks and blemishes. The mags were contaminated so badly that even the odd trip to "car washes" had no effect.
She has always seen me spending hours polishing and cleaning my car and thinks Im so obsessed with the product that I should apply for a job at Meguiars. So over the past few months of us living together, and her moaning about my Meguiars collection taken up loads of cupboard space, I have managed to get her to start feeling my car after Claying it and Polishing it, to understand the true definition of SMOOTH. Now after I have just washed my car and applied UQD, before she gets in she glides her finger accross the surface and smiles at me. She is now taking the odd trips to Makro and other stores to help me purchase the products. Hopefully oneday she will build up her own collection.

So....I saw the competition coming up and confronted her on entering her swirl marked "Sunlight" baby into the Meguiars Competition. The reaction I got was a laugh...according to her, she says there is NO WAY her car could look good. "Besides, its full of swirl marks and its not NEW like your car!" she said. Confidently I replied, "Ag thats no problem" having faith in Meguiars. After taking the before photo I doubted my workmanship and thought...wow I have really put my foot in it this time!!

This is the nightmare I was faced with!!


So....after some advice from the super star Woodie, I took a trip with Nicole to Makro and got ourselves the products I was missing for the job ahead. (Ultimate Compound, Swirl X, Quick Detailer, and an APC)

Then....the job started!

1- Car was washed with Blade APC [/u]- Sprayed under the wheel arches and mags and also aggetated with a brush.

2- All Wheel Cleaner - after the APC had little effect on her mags, I turned to the All Wheel Cleaner, I used the cleaner twice on each mag and aggetated with a brush on both occasions.

3- Gold Class Bug and Tar Remover - the sides of this car were shocking, 2 applications of Bug and Tar remover did the job no probs!!

4- Quick Detailer and my faithful Meguiars Clay - I have never seen a piece of clay so dirty in my life...it was my last new block of clay so I ended up kneeding the clay and lubricating it over and over to get a clean surface. Wiped down with Microfibre.

5 - PlastX - this was a job for Nicole - an applicator pad and a Microfibre cloth, I demonstrated half a head light and she completed the rest...yes, the photos of her using Meguiars is priceless.

6- All Metal Polish - after using so much aggetation on her mags, All Metal Polish had to be used. Once again...the pictures of Nicole doing all 4 mags and the exhaust are being kept for one of those bribary days.

7- Ultimate Compound - my first time using this product...WOW...what a product. Applied with an applicator pad and taken off with a Microfibre Cloth. The clever girl did not however tell me that she ONCE polished her car with a green polish....and this led to me throwing away 2 "green" applicator pads and a "green" Microfibre Cloth.

8- Swirl X - once again, my first time using Swirl X, absolutely amazing. Applicator pad and taken off with a Microfibre Cloth. After this application, Nicole was going "wooowwwww", "no wayyy!", "Oh my word!", "Feel it, its sooo smooth!".

9- NXT Tech Wax - my favourite product. Applicator pad and taken off with a Microfibre Cloth. The ease of this product is unreal, to me this was the deciding factor...to see the true elbow grease reward.

10- Ultimate Quick Wax - I decided to an extra layer of protection, also because I had not used my own bottle of UQW before, sprayed on directly and wiped with Microfibre cloth...WOW...this is an awesome product!

Finally 8 and a half hours later with an hour lunch...we stood back in amazement. This is what was shinning back at us!

Nicole could NOT believe what she saw. She told me her car looks like its glowing. I have to admit, the hand cramps and sore fingers was worth it. I was shocked and could not believe that an old car with unbelieveable swirls could transform to an almost brand new paint job!

I looked at her and said.....do you think it might win now? She just smiled and nodded. haha
Another Meguiars fan for life is all I can say!

Well folks thats pretty much the story of how Nicole and I, with the amazing capabilities of the legendary Meguiars, made a difference to the look of her car.

Well done on an amazing transformation.

Nicole, I hope you will never EVER EVER wash your car with sunlight liquid again.

Well done Richard & Nicole - a lovely first entry into the competition. I trust that you've broken the ice and we'll see many more entries flooding in.

I understand Nicole's response to your detailing very well as I had the same situation with my wife. Fortunately she's now well past the disbelief stage and leaves me to my detailing devices. Although she has no interest in getting involved in the process of detailing her car, she uses several Meguiars products in the house .

As far as Nicole is concerned, I think that you should come to an agreement with her. She must stop using Sunlight to wash her car and you won't use Meguiars shampoo to wash the dishes .
